In a key strategic move that strengthens the unique ‘Rain-to-Drain’ position of its Water Management division, Alumasc Group plc has completed the acquisition of Essex-based drainage specialist, Wade International.

“Wade has built a strong brand on the design excellence and high quality manufacture of its products,” comments Alumasc Water Management Divisional Managing Director, Steve Durdant-Hollamby. “Its strategic focus aligns perfectly with our own and will allow us greater scope and capacity to invest in and develop the next generation of drainage systems that will define new standards in performance, durability and value.”

Based in Halstead, Essex, Wade International has an operational history extending over five decades. Working extensively with a variety of metals tailored to specific application environments its product portfolio includes linear drainage channels, floor gullies and grease converters. Its highly specified products have been used on many major projects both in the UK and overseas such as The British Library and Chep Lap Kok Airport, Hong Kong.

Wade will join the five current business units within Alumasc Water Management Solutions (AWMS): Skyline, Alumasc Rainwater, Harmer Building Drainage, Gatic Civil Drainage and Access Covers.

“Effective water management requires a deep understanding of every process across the water management chain – this lies at the heart of our Rain to Drain proposition and provides the foundation for our research and development programmes,” continues Steve Durdant-Hollamby. “The considerable expertise throughout the Wade team will be a vital asset at this key time for AWMS and for our sector as we meet the challenges of water resilience and climate change.”
